Miguel Indurain Larraya (born 16 July 1964) is a retired Spanish road racing cyclist. He won five consecutive Tours de France from 1991 and 1995, the first to do so, and the fourth athlete to win five times.He won the Giro d'Italia twice, becoming one of only seven people in history to achieve the Giro Tour double in the same season. He wore the race leader's yellow jersey in the Tour de France for 60 days. Indurain's ability and physical size—1.88 m (6 ft 2 in) and 80 kg (176 lbs)—earned him the nickname "Miguelón" or "Big Mig". He was the youngest rider ever to win the Spanish amateur national road championship, when he was 18, at 20 the youngest rider to lead the Vuelta a España, and at 20 he won a stage of the Tour de l'Avenir.

Edouard Louis Joseph, Baron Merckx  (born 17 June 1945 in Meensel-Kiezegem),better known as Eddy Merckx, is a Belgian former professional cyclist.
The French magazine Vélo called him "the most accomplished rider that cycling has ever known"

Bernard Thévenet, born 10 January 1948, in Saint-Julien-de-Civry, Saône-et-Loire, is a retired French bicycle racer. He is a two-time winner of the Tour de France and known for ending the reign of five-time Tour champion Eddy Merckx. He also won the Dauphiné Libéré in 1975 and 1976.

Bernard Thévenet



Lucien van Impe (born 20 October 1946 in Mere, Belgium) was a Belgian cyclist from 1969 to 1987. He excelled mainly as a climber in multiple-day races such as the Tour de France. He was the winner of the 1976 Tour de France, and six times winner of the mountains classification in the Tour de France.

Herman Van Springel  (born 14 August 1943)                                                                       
is a Belgian former road racing cyclist.He was an accomplished time-trial rider, almost winning the Tour de France in 1968, when he was beaten in the last stage by Dutchman, Jan Janssen in a time-trial. In the autumn that year, he won the classic Giro di Lombardia.

Herman Van Springel




Gilberto Simoni (born August 25, 1971 in Palù di Giovo, Trentino) is an Italian ex-professional road bicycle racer, most recently for Lampre-ISD. Simoni is twice winner of the Giro d'Italia cycling race (2001 and 2003 editions). Simoni might have won a third Giro, but in 2002 he tested positive for cocaine and was withdrawn from the race by his Saeco team - he was later cleared of any doping violation by the Italian Cycling Federation. Simoni is a native of Palu di Giovo, and was considered a climbing specialist.

Gilberto Simoni


Anton Tkáč (* 30. marec 1951, Lozorno) je bývalý slovenský reprezentant v dráhovej cyklistike.
Anton Tkáč začínal disciplínou časovka (nazývanou aj „kilometer s pevným štartom“), v ktorej získal na svetovom šampionáte 1970 v Leicestri bronzovú medailu. Po neúspechoch presedlal na šprint a v tejto disciplíne získal tri krát zlatú medailu na svetovom šampionáte: v roku 1974 v Montreale (Kanada), v roku 1976 v Ostuni (Taliansko) a v roku 1978 v Nürburgringu (Nemecko). Na Olympijských hrách 1976 v Montreale získal v rovnakej disciplíne zlatú olympijskú medailu, keď vo finále porazil desaťnásobného majstra sveta Francúza Daniela Morelona.
Anton Tkáč bol v rokoch 1976 a 1978 vo vtedajšom Česko-Slovensku vyhlásený za športovca roka, pri vyhlasovaní najlepších slovenských cyklistov 20. storočia sa umiestnil na prvom mieste.
V rokoch 2001 až 2011 bol Anton Tkáč prezidentom Slovenského cyklistického zväzu (SCZ). Od roku 2001 do roku 2008 bol členom výkonného výboru Slovenského olympijského výboru (SOV).

Sir Christopher Andrew "Chris" Hoy, MBE (born 23 March 1976 in Edinburgh, Scotland) is a Scottish track cyclist representing Great Britain and Scotland. He is a multiple world champion and Olympic Games gold medal winner. With his three gold medals in Beijing 2008, Hoy became Scotland's most successful Olympian,[3] the first Briton to win three gold medals in a single Olympic games since Henry Taylor, in 1908, and the most successful Olympic male cyclist of all time.
